The Bulletin: 007 in Forster's Crosshairs

Marc Forster ("Stranger Than Fiction," "Monster's Ball," "Finding Neverland," "The Kite Runner") will direct the next James Bond production (Nov. 7, 2008), with Daniel Craig to star, reports Columbia Pictures. "I have always been drawn to different kinds of stories and I have also always been a Bond fan, so it is very exciting to take on this challenge," Forster said. Paul Haggis will rewrite Neal Purvis and Robert Wade's ("Casino Royale") script. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will produce. "We are delighted that Marc Forster, with his exceptional talent and unique vision, has agreed to direct our next James Bond film," Wilson and Broccoli said. Production will begin in December at Pinewood Studios in London.

Jackson as Nick Fury
Samuel L. Jackson will shoot a scene as iconic superspy Nick Fury in Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" (May 2, 2008), reports Ain't It Cool News.

Izzard Joins Singer's 'Valkyrie'
Eddie Izzard ("Ocean's Thirteen") will star in Bryan Singer's "Valkryie," a dramatization of actual events in which German generals hatch a scheme to assassinate Adolf Hitler at the height of World War II, reports Variety. Tom Cruise, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy, Carice van Houten ("Black Book"), Patrick Wilson and Stephen Fry co-star. Christopher McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects") and Nathan Alexander wrote the script. Paula Wagner, Singer, McQuarrie and Cruise will produce for United Artists. Production begins July 19 in Berlin.

Stiller's 'In Deep'
Ben Stiller is in talks to star in "In Deep," in which a single traffic violation increasingly enmeshes a citizen in criminal mischief, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Mark Romanek ("One Hour Photo") is in talks to direct for DreamWorks. Steve Conrad ("The Weather Man," "The Pursuit of Happyness") will rewrite George Beckerman's original draft. Stuart Cornfeld and Stiller will produce, with Robert Weide and Romanek as executive producers.

Black is a 'Man-Witch'
Jack Black will star in Todd Phillips' "Man-Witch," in which a schoolteacher with spooky abilities enrolls in an academy for witches, reports Variety. Jay Reiss (Broadway's "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee") will adapt Josh Stolberg and Bob Florsheim's pitch into a script. Neal Moritz and Phillips will produce. Scott Budnick and Ori Marmur will executive produce.

'Cowboys & Aliens' to Crash Land
DreamWorks and Universal Pictures will develop an adaptation of the illustrative novel "Cowboys & Aliens," about a war between gunslingers and extraterrestrials in the Old West, reports Variety. Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will write the script. Brian Grazer and Ron Howard will produce with Mitchell Rosenberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Ervin Rustemagic and Rich Marincic will co-produce.

Hudson Picks 'Bachelor'
Kate Hudson will star with Dane Cook in "Bachelor No. 2," in which a contract cad is paid to badly date clients' ex-girlfriends in order to scare each lady back into the arms of her ex, reports Variety. Howard Deutch ("Pretty in Pink," The Replacements") will direct. Jordan B. Cahan wrote the script. Guymon Casady, Doug Johnson, Adam Herz, Greg Lessans, Josh Shader, Barry Katz and Brian Volk-Weiss will produce. Production begins in August in Boston.

Miller to Adapt Chandler
Novelist Frank Miller ("300," "Sin City") will adapt Raymond Chandler's novella "Trouble Is My Business" for Universal Pictures, with Clive Owen ("Children of Men") to star as private eye Philip Marlowe in 1940s Los Angeles, reports Variety. Marc Abraham and Eric Newman will produce, and Phil Clymer and Owen will executive produce.

'Michael Clayton' Trailer Available
The trailer for Tony Gilroy's legal thriller "Michael Clayton" (Oct. 5), with George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson and Tilda Swinton, is available in Quicktime at Yahoo! Movies.
