The Bulletin: Carrey to Star in 'Sober Buddies'

Jim Carrey will star as the sponsor of an alcoholic software engineer on a critical business trip in Las Vegas in "Sober Buddies," reports Variety. Andrew Kurtzman will write the script. Scott Stuber and Mary Parent will produce with Michael Peyser for Universal Pictures.

Forster Travels to 'Land of Roses'
Marc Forster ("Stranger Than Fiction," "Finding Neverland") will develop, and may direct, "Land of Roses," a dramatization of Kurdish immigrant Ibrahim Parlak's false imprisonment in America as a terrorist in the wake of September 11, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Albert Torres will write the script.

Diaz in 'The Box'
Cameron Diaz
will star in Richard Kelly's "The Box," an adaptation of Richard Matheson's short story "Button, Button," reports Variety. Kelly ("Donnie Darko") wrote the script, in which a wife is lent a mysterious box with a button said to grant a wish at the price of a stranger's life. Kelly and Sean McKittrick will produce, and Ted Hamm will executive produce.
