The Bulletin: 'Die Hard' Director to 'Escape'

Len Wiseman ("Live Free or Die Hard," "Underworld") will direct "Escape from New York," an update of John Carpenter's 1981 cult dystopian thriller, reports Variety. Gerald Butler ("300") will star as terse renegade Snake Plissken. Neal Moritz ("The Fast and the Furious") will produce for New Line Cinema with Ori Marmur, Ron Halpern, Frederic Sichler and Carpenter. Ken Nolan ("Black Hawk Down") will write the script. In the original "Escape From New York," Plissken (Kurt Russell), a notorious fugitive with an outlaw's stylish eye patch, infiltrates Manhattan, an inescapable maximum security prison of the future, to rescue the President of the United States.

Singh to Direct 'Unforgettable'
Tarsem Singh ("The Cell") will direct "The Unforgettable," in which an infiltration of extraterrestrials clash in a secret war on Earth, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Basil Iwanyk, David Goyer and Jason Hall will produce. Kurt Sutter wrote the script.

Emmerich Accepts 'Voyage'
Roland Emmerich ("Independence Day," March's "10,000 B.C.") will direct an update of Richard Fleischer's "Fantastic Voyage" (1966), reports Variety. Marianne and Cormac Wibberley ("National Treasure") will write the script, in which scientists miniaturize into a ship to navigate the bloodstream and save the life of a sick colleague. Michael Wimer will produce with James Cameron.

Aniston Into 'Just Not That Into You'
Jennifer Aniston is in negotiations to star as a women with a boyfriend afraid of commitment in "He's Just Not That Into You," an adaptation of Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo's relationship book, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Ken Kwapis ("License to Wed") will direct. Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen will produce for New Line Cinema. Aniston joins Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin and Barrymore. Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein ("Never Been Kissed") wrote the script, a collection of vignettes about personal communication and behavior. Production will star in September in Los Angeles.
