As Francis Ford Coppola pleads with burglars in a raid of his Buenos Aires office to return a laptop drive with script notes for "Tetro," secret photographs and computer equipment on the set of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" go poof, reports The Los Angeles Times. "An investigation is being conducted by law enforcement," said Kristin Stark, a spokeswoman for DreamWorks. "We want to warn the media that anything that is offered is stolen property," Spielberg's spokesman Martin Levy said. "We know it is out there."
Diesel, Walker Back for 'Fast 4'
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker will reunite in "The Fast and the Furious 4," reports The Hollywood Reporter. Justin Lin ("The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift") will direct and write the script with Chris Morgan for Universal Pictures. Neal Moritz will produce with Diesel. Production will start in the spring in Los Angeles, then transplant to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Del Toro on Lovecraft
Guillermo Del Toro ("Pan's Labyrinth," "Hellboy II: The Golden Army") will next direct "At the Mountains of Madness," an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's novel about an Antarctic expedition's discovery of a mysterious menace in the ruins of a lost civilization, reports Latino Review. Universal Pictures will distribute, Susan Montford and Don Murphy will produce.
Portman Joins Maguire, Gyllenhaal in 'Brothers'
Natalie Portman will star with Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal in a remake of Susanne Bier's "Brothers" (2004), reports Variety. Jim Sheridan ("In America") will direct, and David Benioff ("The 25th Hour") will write the script, in which a soldier is sent to Afghanistan to leave his wife and child in the care of his jailbird brother. Ryan Kavanaugh will produce with Michael De Luca andJoni Sighvatsson. Production will start in November.
Forster to Direct 'The Jury'
Marc Forster ("The Kite Runner," the next James Bond installment) will direct an adaptation of Pete Travis and Peter Morgan's British miniseries "The Jury" (2002) at 20th Century Fox, reports Variety. Beau Willimon will write the script, about a young Sikh student on trial for the murder of a classmate tormentor. Forster will produce with Brad Simpson, Guymon Casady and Quentin Curtis. Rob Green will executive produce.
