A Second Opinion at Entertainment Weekly

Owen Gleiberman of Entertainment Weekly has a second opinion, and as always, his batches of best-ofs usually have a risky choice or two, and 2006 is no exception. His choice for the Best Film of 2006, "Casino Royale," is an extravagant shoot 'em up (Owen said in his review that "Casino Royale" was "the best Bond film in over a decade") that would've certainly been a safer move to have mingle further down the top 10, underneath the artier assortment. But, no, Owen makes a far riskier manuever with "Casino Royale" at No. 1. Other odd choices for 2006: "Dave Chappelle's Block Party" and "Infamous."

1. "Casino Royale"
2. "United 93"
3. "The Good Shepherd"
4. "Sherrybaby"
5. "Dave Chappelle's Block Party"
6. "Deliver Us From Evil"
7. "Infamous"
8. "Sweet Land"
9. "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu"
10. "Cars"
