The Bulletin: Owen as 'The International'

Clive Owen ("Children of Men") will star in "The International," in which an Interpol agent investigates corruption in the financial sector, reports Variety. Tom Tykwer ("Run Lola Run," "Heaven") will direct, and Eric Singer wrote the script. Charles Roven, Richard Suckle and Lloyd Phillips will produce, and John Woo, Terence Chang and Jeff Lurie will executive produce. Production begins in September.

Judd to Join 'Crossing Over'
Ashley Judd is in negotiations to star with Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Sean Penn in Wayne Kramer's "Crossing Over," a tapestry about illegal immigration, for The Weinstein Company, reports Variety. Kramer ("The Cooler") wrote the script. Frank Marshall, Gregg Taylor and Kramer will produce. Judd will star as an immigration defense attorney; Ford, as an federal enforcement agent; Liotta, as a USCIS district adjudicator; and Penn, as a border patrol agent.

Bana, McAdams Leap Toward 'Time Traveler's Wife'
Eric Bana ("Munich," "The Hulk") and Rachel McAdams ("The Notebook," "Red Eye") will star in "The Time Traveler's Wife," an adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger's novel in which a Chicago librarian with a genetic disorder attempts to establish a romantic relationship despite an ability to vanish in time, reports Variety. Robert Schwentke ("Flightplan") will direct. Bruce Joel Rubin ("Ghost") rewrote Jeremy Leven's script. Brad Pitt, Nick Wechsler and Dede Gardner will produce. Production begins in August.

Kinberg to Rewrite 'Hardy Men'
Simon Kinberg ("Mr. and Mrs. Smith") will rewrite "The Hardy Men" from scratch, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise will star as the classic sibling sleuths The Hardy Boys, all grown up but together again to solve a case (the secret of the old mill, perhaps). The comedy director du jour Shawn Levy ("Night at the Museum") will direct for 20th Century Fox. Stiller, Stuart Cornfeld and Robert Kosberg will produce.

Apted to Direct Third 'Narnia'
Michael Apted ("The World is Not Enough," "Gorillas in the Mist") will direct "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," in which Edmund and Lucy unearth seven lords in exile, reports Ain't It Cool News. Andrew Adamson is the director of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" (2005) and "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" (May 16, 2008).

Firth, Skarsgard Join 'Mamma Mia!'
Colin Firth ("Bridget Jones' Diary"), Stellan Skarsgard ("Breaking the Waves") and Christine Baranski will star with Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Amanda Seyfried in "Mamma Mia!," an adaptation of the phenomenal Broadway musical, for Universal Pictures, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Brosnan, Firth and Skarsgard will star as a trio of potential fathers to Sophie, a young woman about to declare "I do," but uncertain of the identity of her biological father. Streep will star as Donna Sheridan, Sophie's mother, and Baranski, as a bossy, boozy party girl. The musical will include ABBA songs "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me" and "The Winner Takes All," to name a few. Phyllida Lloyd, director of the London and New York stage productions of "Mamma Mia!," will direct from Catherine Johnson's script. Judy Craymer of Littlestar, and Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks of Playtone will produce. Rita Wilson, with ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, will executive produce. Production will begin in June in London and Greece.
