The Bulletin: Goode as Ozymandias

Matthew Goode ("The Lookout," "Match Point") will star as the "The Smartest Man on the Planet," Ozymandias (a.k.a. the vain Adrien Veidt), in Zack Snyder's "Watchmen," an adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' deconstructive apocalyptic epic, reports IESB.net. Goode joins Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach, Billy Crudup as Doctor Manhattan and Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl. For more of The Scout's "Watchmen" cast recommendations, revisit the March 30 issue. (The Scout's "Watchmen" Picks: 1 out of 4, so far.)

Cruise Sought for 'Edwin A. Salt'
Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda") is in talks to direct "Edwin A. Salt," an espionage thriller in which an American traitor wrongly tags a CIA officer as a Russian sleeper spy, reports Variety. Tom Cruise is the ideal choice to star as the fugitive agent. Kurt Wimmer wrote the script. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Sunil Perkash will produce for Columbia Pictures.

Tucci to Star in 'Lovely Bones'
Stanley Tucci will star with Rachel Weisz, Ryan Gosling and Saoirse Ronan in Peter Jackson's "The Lovely Bones," an adaptation of Alice Sebold's novel in which a slain girl, Susie Salmon, observes her own family's grief — and her killer's deeds — on Earth in the afterlife, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Tucci will star as Susie's murderer, George Harvey; Ronan as the slain daughter; and Weisz and Gosling as Susie's parents. Jackson wrote the script with Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh ("The Lord of the Rings"). Carolynne Cunningham, Jackson, Walsh and Aimee Peyronnet will produce, and Tessa Ross will executive produce with Ken Kamins and Jim Wilson. Production begins in October in Pennsylvania and New Zealand.
