A promotional trailer for Sylvester Stallone's "John Rambo" (2008) is available at Ain't It Cool News. Renegade John Rambo (Stallone) aborts retirement as a boat repairman in Bangkok to rescue missionaries in Myanmar.

Jackson Reaches Into Miller's 'Spirit'
Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to star as mysterious supervillain The Octopus, a.k.a. Zitzbath Zark, in "The Spirit," an adaptation of Will Eisner's comic noir, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Graphic artist Frank Miller, co-director of "Sin City" (2005) with Robert Rodriguez, wrote the script and will direct for Lionsgate. In "The Spirit," slain detective Denny Colt is reborn as an avenger for justice in Central City and encounters archvillain The Octopus, a psychopathic criminal overlord. Michael Uslan, Deborah Del Prete and Gigi Pritzker will produce.

Butler to Star in 'Nim's Island'
Gerald Butler ("300") will star in "Nim's Island" (April 25, 2008), an adaptation of Wendy Orr and Kevin Millard's children's novel about a scientist's daughter lost on a secret isle, for 20th Century Fox and Walden Media, reports Variety. Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin ("Little Miss Sunshine") co-star. Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin will direct. Production begins in Australia in July.

Hawn, Russell to Star in 'Ashes'
Goldie Hawn will direct and star in "Ashes to Ashes," about a woman's trip to Kathmandu to bury her husband's remains, reports Variety. Kurt Russell will co-star. Michel Shane and Anthony Romano will produce. Hawn wrote the script with Jeremy Pikser ("Bulworth").
